Summary of "Eastern European Countries: Simplified Procedures for Coming to Work in France."

The transition period for the new members of the European Union, which was to end on May 1st, 2006, has been prolonged. But for some workers coming from those countries, procedures to work in France are now lighter: they still need a residence and a work permit, but their application cannot be refused on grounds of the employment situation.
