Summary of "The National Agency for Welcoming Foreigners and Migrations (ANAEM – formerly OMI) - Objective : integration in France!"
The Office of International Migrations (OMI) changes its name and becomes the National Agency for Welcoming Foreigners and Migrations (ANAEM). This new agency is operational as of July 28, 2005. It is in charge of the mandatory medical visits that all foreign nationals must pass upon arriving in France for the first time. It is also in charge of the optional “Welcome and Integration Contract” signed by foreign nationals who wish to do so. This contract will be offered to all new comers throughout the entire French territory next year. Here is a detailed presentation of those two French “public services” to foreign nationals.
